well it mostly has to do with on pride in their console i.e. fanboynism
as regards to FF XIII, I admit I was mad as well, since 2005 year after year we saw trailers showing off FF XIII uber graphics at that time and most of them would end saying "exclusively for the PS3", articles saying that FF XIII will max the PS3, it made me happy to see a game of that supposed quality to come only to the PS3, it was something for early PS3 owners to somewhat validate their purchase of a $500-$600 system.
When MS dropped that bomb at E3 '08, most PS3 fans felt shafted, not only did we lose a quality exclusive, we felt that some fanboy code was broken(lol) and we also had to wait for the 360 version to be done(which suck donkey balls since it was rumored that FF XIII would have a worldwide release date)
