It also isn't as dire as you all make it out to be. Adding 4K support isn't going to jump costs dramatically, expecially since it is going to be used for BD movies. Many PC graphic cards can already push 4K resolution. 1080p isn't what made PS3 so expensive, you know that right? This is being blown way out of proportion. |
I know that yeah. These are two different things we're talking about.
1) Adoption rates.
2) Cost in BOM.
For 1, it's what we were talking about earlier. I don't think there is interest for 4K at this stage in the market, it's too soon after HD.
For 2, I went over that with pezus, and I said that as long as it attracts the cutting-edge audience at a price that doesn't alienate the regular audience due to overhead costs, it's fine.
