What is funny is that when PS3 came out everyone said "It's too early. HDTV are too expensive."

Look how that turned out.

Now it's "It's too early. UHDTV are too expensive."

PS4 won't be releasing for at least another 12-18 months. So at some point within the first 2-3 years of PS4 lifetime those UHDTV prices will drop dramatically.

No idea how this is being spun as a negative, let alone people thinking this will result in a $400-$600 console, lol.

No they didnt.  They might have said it when the 360 came out.

I'd had a 360 and a HDTV for almost a year whent the PS3 came out...

I can tell you that it wasn't the 360 camp that said it.

I read all the time about how HDTV wasn't going to have fast enough of an adoption rate to justify making games in HD. It was a big defense point for the Wii lacking it.

I think it would be dumb to have BluRay in a console and have it lack 4K playback when 4K movies will no doubt be releasing on BD within the next year or so.

Would you be shocked if the 720 had 4K video playback? It is going to use BD right?

As long as it is for video only there is really no issue here.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
