I always thought MHP4 would come to the Vita after they announced MH4 for 3DS. But with such a small userbase, I wonder if Capcom will even bother anymore.
Not to mention spreading the base over both consoles. Would be best to just keep it on 3DS now that they moved the base over with MH3G. But you never know...

The same could've been said about Resident Evil 4 though, and this is Capcom too.

In RE4's situation, it made sense because Capcom was going from a small userbase to the behemoth that was the PS2. It just made economic sense.
From 3DS to Vita is going in the opposite direction. I think there'll be some kind of spinoff (there was one announced/released already, IIRC) or rerelease (MHP3rd HD). But hey, stranger things have happened. I'm not saying it's impossible, just unlikely.

I'm not talking about the PS2 port, since MH4 hasn't even released you can't compare to that yet anyways.
I was saying that for MH to go to Vita would be like how RE4 went to cube after the series thrived on the PS.

Capcom produced Resident Evil games on the Gamecube (and turned a healthy profit doing so) in exchange for rights to develop and publish The Legend of Zelda games for the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance. Ultimately, it was a huge win for both parties being that Capcom made a ton of money off of the Gameboy games and Nintendo got some huge exclusives for the Gamecube.
Sony's most likely strategy to get similar exclusive titles would be to pay for them. Being that they don't have much money to spare I don't think that is likely to happen.

As Capcom wouldn't ever "waste" a main MH title on PSV until the user base is large enough, Sony could start paying part of the costs of porting to PSV the best existing MH titles, it wouldn't make miracles, but while not boosting sales, it could help supporting them and also start creating a MH fan base on PSV.
