Pezus,
About Dante's Inferno being slightly higher than God of War 3 (on my list).
First of all, I love Kratos and God of War 3 and I can't think of anything particular to criticize about it.
Second, both games are nearly identical in core gameplay. You have fast paced hack'n'slash with tons of combos, your typical upgrades, bossfights and puzzles. The main difference is that God of War 3 is insanely well polished while Dante's Inferno is rough around the edges (poorer graphics and uninspired level design in a couple of places). But I don't have a problem with rough around the edges if a game can offer something interesting in return.
And as a religious person, a game about Hell and Satan (and if we're lucky, about Purgatory and Paradise too in the sequels, I can't wait!) is a much more exciting setting than mythical Greece, although I dearly love that one too. And while simple, I loved the punish-absolve mechanic.
So Dante's Inferno wins on story and atmosphere.
