It was released on the Dreamcast in Japan and Europe in late 2001, even after the DC was discontinued earlier in the year (though not in a ENG dub).
But I don't disagree that the game would have done well on the GC, and that a port would've easy money for Sega*. Just that it could've also been the Dreamcast's Swan song in the U.S. too.
*the Gamecube had the right tool-set to easily port DC games.
