I've read the article another time, to see if I missed something, and I don't see the problem. 2D Mario is the pinnacle of platform games, the only problem I see here is the double standards the press has with some games, and too much games in a short period of time due to the launch of two new consoles, but that doesn't mean reduced metacritic averages for other franchises, the so called "hardcore" franchises that get a pass whatever they do. I've never seen so much criticism in the press to yearly franchises. It's funny that the media considers Mario a problem, when Mario games (plus MH3D in Japan) are the main reason why the 3DS is selling.

The article mentions reduced sales, and I'm saying that Sony would love to have an equivalent to Mario, even with reduced sales, to lift Vita sales. It's funny that one of the most recognized Sony fans on this forum opens a thread to criticize Mario sales, when Sony has a much bigger problem with Vita sales. Only that.

I thought it was a fairly decent article comparing the positives of having a by-the-numbers formula that sells well vs. keeping creative integrity flowing, especially in relation to future scoring and sales figures.  I mean, there's not going to be any alarm bells set off by NSMB2's scores or sales, but you must admit they've both seen a drop and opening a bit of discussion about what that means for the future of the series is no bad thing.

Equally, you could accuse some of Sony's franchises of doing the exact same things.  A new God of War game on the Vita would surely boost sales, definitely not to Mario-esque levels but it is one of their biggest IP's.  But that series, in my eyes, has reached a pinnacle of cinematic hack-'n'-slash gameplay combined with story telling, so where do you go from there?  Do you create a new one just to give your handheld a boost, or do you take a gamble on something like Tearaway instead?  Ofc, this isn't the exact case with Vita, as Sony are mixing in both old & new for it, just with no God of War (yet).

Anyway, I can see why you posted what you did because it is Turkish, but regardless of who posted it the content of the article is decent, in my opinion, and the message it's trying to get across is not a bad place for discussion.
