You can through remote play but you need a Vaio, PSP, or PS Vita.
I sometimes use my Vita to check both the Vita's version of the PS Store and on my PS3. If you think Remote Play is the route you want to go you will have to make sure your PS3 is connected to a router that won't send auto turn on signals or else you won't be able to use Remote Play away from your home because it will disable the feature, some bad decision to use a type of wireless signal to turn the console on is the same as what most routers send out to search for devices.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
