ah this kind of reminds me of this article I read about some bizzare sex laws in the US:

Now I don't know if this is true or not across America, but when I read about the michael jackson doctor in a new paper article the lawyers for jackson family said they were not happy with the 10 years, because the day he walks into prison the sentence is cut in half due to prisoner overpopulation and finances. Further to this, if he behaves well he can be released after 2.5years to ease the burden on the prison. so in essence coudl be serving a qtr what he was sentenced for.
So perhaps a similar thing will happen in this case?
