so people will buy a vita just to play mobile games?

No, but play the  Games that release to the mobile space with better control's maybe, also the very fact that it's not just about this game is a smartphone game or that this game is quote a casual game or this game is a hard core game. The games are made for what ever platform the developer's can make money on for their company to get returns on and for the consumer's  to enjoy.

The very fact that The PSVita has Two analog sticks right from the get go means since many touch screen smart devices esp. android 4.0 devices right from the OS, has game pad support for the games being made in mobile, instead of just simulated analog's there is true analog controls right there on the PSVita, even though the touch only screen games can already simulate those control's, it may not be what some gamer's need for their experience.

for other's they can play quick pick up and play games and it's enough, Sony's PSVita offer's both types of game experiences on one handheld.

the 3DS can also, but since the 3DS uses ARM Holding's ARM11 instead of ARM Cortex A9 like the majority of Smartphones and Tablet's and the PSVita Also offering the same ARM Cortex A9's as the smartphones and Tablets why not?

The Nintendo 3ds would not have the same benefit to developer's when it comes to making games and application's from smartphone development to also go on the 3DS as it would be to put their games and applications from smartphones and tablets to the PSVita.

That's exactly what Sony is banking on, less investment and larger return due to the fact that they already have the tool's since it's pretty much the same as what they are already using to make application's and Games.

that's why this is more about the PSVita being an extension of what is existing as the strongest Handheld platform today with the most install base which is the "smartdevice" instead of making a handheld device that is offset to not include smart devices in development of games and application's included into your Game handheld development.

Look, I LOVE my iPhone and iPad games, I think mobile gaming is awesome, because its cheap and the variety of games is tremendous (Horn, Infinity Blade II and Dungeons, Street Fighter Volt, Cut the Rope,Nova 3, Mass Effect Infiltrator, Angry Birds Space, Metal Slug 3, SoulCalibur, King of Fighters i 2012, ALL this games are awesome!!!) , BUT I just dont hink people will rush to buy a PSV to play Mobile games even if they are somewhat better because of the better controls and display of the PSV (and thats with the really low probability that most Mobile games will be ported to the Vita, just because they can, it doesnt mean they will).

I think IF some of these games (and thats a big IIIIIFFFFFFF) get released on the System with the PSMobile thingie, they WONT drive new sales of the portable, AT ALL. It will be more like a bonus feature of the handheld (like the MP3, or the Cameras, or the Ability to use your facebook, twitter or youtube).

If people can buy all these games in their Android or iOS gadget of choice, why would they buy a 250$ PS Vita just to have the ability to play them? Maybe a FEW people who think that playing Mobile games with a better hardware will do, but MOST of the people wont.

PS Mobile wont be a feature that will increase the Install base substantially, BUT it will be nice to have as an option for the existing owners of the Vita.
