well, that and the fact that every recent  3D Mario game has been more innovative,ambitious and just plain better than any of the 'New' Super Mario 2D titles.

I think the critics have actually gotten it right for once, and I agree with the stance(taken by the article) that 2D mario isn't for the long term Nintendo/Mario fans anymore ...That's the difference between 2D and 3D Mario in a nutshell
