A simple "The following companies didn't allowed us to do our research so we can't comment on their praxis:..." would be a better approach.

Yeah but then they couldn't pretend they were doing work and are investigating stuff... when the reality is, it's the companies that go out of their way to companies like this just ask them for paperwork and sit back and wait while collecting their Non-profit paychecks.

I actually think it is much more sinister than that ... It is a light form of extortion.
