"I did take what you said into consideration before even making this Poll. I realize the VGC userbase is not indicative of the entire market. Yet they are more indicative of people who already own a Vita and see themselves as Gamers. This would be the hardcore the Vita more so targets anyway. I think the data is still very useful(barring anyone is really lying).  It seems Sony is only tapping into a 3rd of immediate fanbase from the data. Which means with a few more big name titles and the inevitable price drop, Vita could be at 6-7mil already. Games of course are hard to quantitate due to different tastes but what HAS become apparent is that the # of games needed to sway a buyer in/decreases with the actual amount they Pay for the device(Meaning people demand from something they feel they spent a lot of money on).

So key point, a Price Drop would at its very least get Sony and the Vita out of the neck of the woods and put it on stable ground."

Absolutely.  At this point I'd say a price cut is urgently required.  The Vita had a good launch line up and some decent titles have been added since, it isnt about softwarem its about price, pure and simple.

But they just announced no price cut in 2012... if they mean that then they are taking a big risk imo.

I saw that Article :(

What I would like to point out is that he would never admit outright to a price drop this year....before they do it. From what I read, he danced around it in typical PR fashion. I am not saying they will or won't because Sony has been known to stand their ground plus they are kinda forced with their financial situation. He doesn't say "No there with not e a price drop in 2012" he says when asked WILL there be one "No, it's too early to consider". Too early could be until TGS(my predictions) and if things don't change so be it.

On the other hand they need to ADVERTISE the fact that it kinda did price drop with bundles. for 250 you can get a game and a Vita. They should also make one model(Wifi and 3G) at that price. Multiple teirs confuse the common consumer. All they see is $300 for just handheld when there is a cheaper model available(people don't want to know they are being cheap in their cheapness) so they don't feel obligated to buy the higher end model because they dont want to be losing features, yet they still dont want to pay that kind of money. Key to bouncing back and NOT Price Dropping...

  • $250 VIta Wifia/3G bundle:includes AAA franchise + system+ 4-8GB Memory
  • ADVERTISE!!! ADVERTISE!!!ADVERTISE!!! People barely know of these deals, let alone the thing even EXISTS!!
This I think could allow them to save face and money, minus whatever it cost for good advertising.
