Seems like COD will crush Halo once again (like it did with Reach and CE Anniversariy).

I truly believe Halo is on the decline. Not just on a decline but a significant decline that will be discussed on forums and gaming sites for years ahead (we'll see article head-lines such as "Is Halo still relevant?"). No Halo game will sell 10 million ever again.

Everyone and their friend plays COD, that's the hard truth. The only game series that can affect COD's popularity to some (little) extent is Battlefield, as some COD kids mature and start to migrate to the more advanced military shooter. But Halo doesn't have that advantage and is increasingly seen as slightly old-fashioned (the Quake and Doom phenomenon).

it has almost double the preorders reach had. maybe it has a decline to halo 3 but that was with the previous releases, i don't really see a continuing decline. sure it won't sell very good over the long run because of nextbox but still, i don't see where you see a decline from reach to halo 4 at this moment and anniversary shouldn't even be mentioned, same with odst. even i as big halo fan didn't buy anniversary and that's not because of cod.

the only possibility i see is that halo 4 won't get very good reviews which could always happen, magazines still don't know a lot about singleplayer and such things. but if it will get very good reviews i don't believe it will sell worse than reach (maybe in the second year because of the next console)

so yes, halo had maybe a decline because of the cod success (but i think that's even a problem for games not in the same genre) and i also believe that cod would sell more without halo so you could say the same vice versa just not as big but i don't believe halo is on a decline atm compared to few years ago as long as they don't fuck the game up.
