Wow, if you liked Super Paper Mario then you'll LOVE the first two. SPM was a pretty lame effort in my opinion. It tried to be a platformer and an RPG but didn't do a good job of either. I applaud them for trying to mix up the formula but it didn't work out.
Paper Mario should always be a full-fledge RPG.
Go download Paper Mario on VC and track down a copy of The Thousand-Year Door. You'll be glad you did. The gameplay is fantastic and the scripts are HILARIOUS.
