Wait a minute. Pachter thought Nintendo should release 3DS at $50 more than Nintendo did and they would still sell like gangbusters, clearly because he thought Nintendo fans would rush out and buy it no matter the price. When Nintendo fans didn't do that it proved Nintendo fans are anything but willing to buy the next Nintendo product without discernment or consideration. But now Pachter continues to accuse Nintendo fans of doing just that.

I do wonder if Pachter made a slip of the tongue and really only meant to apply the criticism to Apple fans only.

Still, as a stockmarket investment adviser/analyst what he's really saying is that Nintendo is a pretty safe investment bet for the Wii U, and continued success of the 3DS because these units will sell well. So Nintendo fans should take this as a back handed compliment because Pachter thinks Nintendo is a sound investment despite some recent negative short-term numbers.
