They use similar technology to track down player motion movement The fact that both design and and technology behind it is similar shows us sony didn't copy anything from nintendo here. You can call a battle royale a rip off and i wouldn't argue with you (altho rip off is usually considered to be much worse than the original product, where battle royale seems its gonna be better quality game here) but motion controller definitely isn't
