As I see it: romantic relationship - sex = friendship So I can't really answer the question unless it's rephrased (that's just me though). Yes, I would probably like to live with a very close friend and share experiences with it. Question though is whether I would get bored of the person after a while or not, which I believe is more likely without the sex. For instance, an old friend of mine had not visited me for years but decided to do so last spring. We both had a good time, and he later told me that he would stay for about half the summer. I did enjoy his whole stay overall, but after a while there was a sense of becoming bored of his whole personality. That's probably why we usually don't stick to one friend at a time, but has several connections. Something that seems way less likely when sex is involved. Anyway, that's my experiences.

That works both ways. If you have a long relationship, the sex can get boring at times and you need something else to keep you together.
OT: There would still be relationships. There are actually couples who have relationships without sex. They're just asexual, but the desire for closeness to a fellow human being is still present.
