Europe numbers are pretty good considering that they didn't advertise the XL at all. They just started advertising it in conjunction with NSMB2 rolled into one commercial, just like I suspected. I'm pretty sure the 3DS numbers will at least be stable at 70k in eurpoe for a month or so.

I'm not disagreeing with you because I haven't seen many XL adverts on TV (though, I don't watch TV so much anymore) but just here in the UK at least, 2 Gamestations I have been in have been plastered with adverts for it all over the window and inside the store.

Well I can only speak from personal experience and I haven't seen a single ad until today, where they advertised NSMB2 and the XL together in one commercial. That is all I have seen thus far. No newspaper ads, no web banners. I was in one Gamestop because of the trade in and they literally sold the XL from under the counter. They had a normal 3DS as a demo unit and nothing indicated they had a new device until I asked the employee about it.

Here in Italy I saw very few ads on paper, and intensive, but time limited advertising on TV: I saw even more than one ad a day for a week, or a few days more, around launch date, say, I didn't note down the dates, but it started around the Sunday or Monday before launch and it ended
around the Wednesday after launch, so 9-10 days. Advertising longer wouldn't have made sense, the weekend after was the beginning of the vacations of the majority of the minority that this year can afford them, and those that cannot afford them won't buy consoles, either.
