| RolStoppable said: Boo for NSMB2. I doubt that the download numbers are significant (probably sub-100k up until now), so this isn't a good start for the game. What's more important are the sales in the long run though (both of the game and the 3DS hardware), so if this beast can stay above 10k units in weekly sales for a long time and raises the 3DS baseline a bit, it's still all good, because Japan already has a steady flow of appealing software. The game's performance in the Western markets will be much more important, but if it's not doing hot in Japan, then people shouldn't expect too much for America and Europe (i.e. not an immediate turnaround from poor 3DS sales to great ones). |
Sadly, true. Digital sales won't be as big as people wants to believe, so maybe it is at 680-700k right now. In western markets I'm expecting a ok performance.

And you can't compare Dragon Quest X to other MMOs because they aren't Dragon Quest. It's as simple as that. DQX is kind of a first at what it's doing. And as far as I can tell, those sales are definitely at least a good start for the game. |
This. This. This.
The only thing we can do is wait for SE to share expectations and results.
