Oyvoyvoyv said: Ok, this might be totally on topic, but it sort off is. Some people say that the reason that the Wii is doing so well, is only price. Norway: Wii price: 2400-2800 Nkr (about 413-482 dollars) Xbox 360 arcade price: 1900 Nkr (about 327 dollars) Ps3 price: 2999Kr-3999Kr (depending on size, I'm not sure about the sizes, I think it is still 80Gb and 20 Gb.) That equals 520-680 dollars When I then tell you that the console sales are at about 320K, shouldn't that mean that X360 has 175ish K? No it doesn't. Ps3 has Roughly 130K, Wii has roughly 130K and X360 has 60K. Norway might be a really small market, but it shows that even if 360 was very cheap, it wouldn't necessarily beat Wii. Okay, just a few small corrections (but you hit pretty well though!):
The Wii in Norway is without exception around 2500 flat (mostly 2495), and there have been no sales or percentage cuts on it in any store as far as I've heard. The 360 Arcade is the cheapest version in Norway, but it costs almost exactly 2500 NOK as well, and I have never seen it cheaper than that. The PS3 has had 2 special campaign pricings in its lifetime; one was a slight subsidy from Telenor where they gave you 25% off on a PS3 if you signed up for ADSL with them for 12 months and the other was a Spaceworld sale where PS3's went for 2995 for 6 weeks. Other than that, the PS3 remains at the 3995 price point to date, so all three have had very stable pricing and few good offers yet.
To sum up; in 99% of the cases, the price would be:
Wii: 2495NOK
X-Box 360 Arcade: 2495NOK
PS3: 3995NOK
I don't know where Vgchartz got those LT numbers though, they seem awfully high, almost twice of those I've heard (Wii and PS3 at 57.000 jan 1st and 360 at roughly 35.000), I'll try to look into it though!
