Just wanted to quote this for awareness. The amount of spinning makes me dizzy. Arkham City coming to Wii U? LOL errbody played dat already, who needs dat? BF3 cancelled in favor of BF4? LOL Nintendo am DOOMED, bro!
Battlefield 3 is different from ME3 and Arkham City. Those 2 games are singleplayer story driven experiences that everyone can experience on their own. BF3 on the other hand is centered around multiplayer and is dependant on an active community. I would argue that multiplayer games like this attract mostly the hardcore crowd and those guys would have already settled on another plattform so I don't see how BF3 could build an active online community one year after it's original launch. Not to mention that it would probably have to compete with a brand spanking new CoD which will have it way easier to build said community. It's just a smart business decision from EA for once that anyone with a little common sense should understand. The dependance on an external factor like a stable community is a risk and this risk is way higher when most of the targeted audience has already settled on other plattforms.
So yes, I second the opinion that BF3 not coming to Wii U is good news. I prefer third parties skipping the test games and going to the big guns right away over porting a game that has a very high chance of being a dud and having to deal with the bullshit afterwards that support gets cut off entirely because said test game didn't sell.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
