You'd do well to learn how to read between the lines. It has been said that conveying your point through metaphor, allegory, mockery and the like is a sign of intelligence.
Sometimes your point simply cannot be conveyed directly.
I can read inbetween the lines, but it as been said before it is hard to detect sarcasm online, this is because you can't tell clearly if the person meant it as a joke or not.
I try to be direct in what I say, you of all people should know if you don't your words can easily be taken out of context too easily.
