Dude GTA is the most casual game ever. What you think there are like 13+ Million hardcore gamers... and they all bought GTA? Causal gamers love that you can just drive around for like 15 minutes, screw shit up, run over a few people and get caught by the cops. I know, because that's what my casual friends did. They bought a PS2, GTA, Madden, Tony Hawk... and that was it. Then they got stoned and played GTA taking turns while they died. There is a large market of casual players that actually do enjoy what many people mistakenly call "hardcore" games. Any game that sells over two million is likely tapping in to a fairly large casual base. The problem is your definition of casual is "Someone who doesn't like the games I like." Instead of "Someone who occasionally plays videogames, but it isn't a big hobby to them. Probably plays less then 5 hours a week." |
Of course some casuals like that shit, but Grand Theft Auto appeals to all hardcore gamers as well. You rarly hear of hardcore gamers not liking Grand Theft Auto. There are many ways to play the game.
To say this game won't sell well without casuals is crazy, this game caters more to hardcores than casuals and the majority of 360/PS3 owners will eat it up.
