That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. You are calling Grand Theft Auto a casual game? Wow. This doesn't deserve any more attention, but I have no choice: " went to casuals who just want to blow stuff up." 1. Most casuals don't want to blow stuff up 2. If they did, games like Uncharted, Gears of War, Bioshock, etc. would all appeal to these "casuals" 3. If Grand Theft Auto is classified as casual, almost every game ever made has to be |
Dude GTA is the most casual game ever. What you think there are like 13+ Million hardcore gamers... and they all bought GTA?
Causal gamers love that you can just drive around for like 15 minutes, screw shit up, run over a few people and get caught by the cops. I know, because that's what my casual friends did.
They bought a PS2, GTA, Madden, Tony Hawk... and that was it. Then they got stoned and played GTA taking turns while they died.
There is a large market of casual players that actually do enjoy what many people mistakenly call "hardcore" games. Any game that sells over two million is likely tapping in to a fairly large casual base.
The problem is your definition of casual is "Someone who doesn't like the games I like."
Instead of "Someone who occasionally plays videogames, but it isn't a big hobby to them. Probably plays less then 5 hours a week."
