I finally got to see The Dark Knight Rises this weekend is here's what I thought.
It's a very good action film. The plot does require a lot of suspension of disbelief but it's an interesting one. What surprised me the most is that I found myself interested/impressed by were not the ones I thought I would like beforehand.
Bane was pretty bland to me and I sometimes had difficulties hearing what he was saying. On the other hand, I thought Anne Hathaway's catwoman was really really good as she navigated between good girl and bad girl. I was also very surprised by how much screen time Joseph Gordon Levitt got (even more than Bale I think), his storyline was very interesting as he was the one figuring things out while Wayne was busy dreaming of Gui Gon Jin Ra's Al Ghul. While I did like the twist of Miranda being the child who climbed out of the pit (Thalia Al Ghul), I think they could have given much punch if her relationship with Bruce Wayne had been more fleshed out.
All in all it was a very good film but The Dark Knight was much much better.
