If Nintendo bent over to EA for Origin, it would mean killing off other third party services like Uplay and Steam. This sounds very selfish on their part. Why discontinue support for a system (that hasn't launched yet) because the manufacterer won't pander to our requests?

I agree. As I said in the other thread F*** EA. The Wii won without them. The Wii U can do it as well.

Sometimes I wish Nintendo would take a strong arm response to some of these trashy, bad mouthing devs and their bad intentions. Nintendo you take the upper hand while they still have it and smack some of these obnoxious companies around, for their fans that keep getting short handed if nothing else.

They should tell EA that if they aren't going to release quality titles on the system then they aren't needed on the system. Take the initiative. Once again, the Wii did fine without them.

If Nintendo told off EA (and other devs) then it would only fuck Nintendo up in the eyes of the hardcore even further, The hardcore goes where the games are, and while you are right, Nintendo could support a console on their own, they need all the support they can get. This is why Iwata and Reggie have essentially stripped naked and bent over to third parties this gen, taking their every command lol.

They smacked bad mouthing companies around in the 80's and 90's. Look at their support from SNES to N64 to see how that turned out. Long story short, it's not a good business model.

As for Origin, Nintendo exclusively supporting that would alienate other third parties, but Nintendo not supporting it would alienate EA. What they need to do is work out a deal so that Origin is on the system, but other publishers have their networks as well.
