They already tried that with Metroid.  Other M wasn't that good.  It would have been better if they made it similar to Alien.

Actually I had fun with the Mario movie even though it was bad. Same goes for Street Fighter. It was not Jean Claude Van Damme who destroyed it, but the Directors and Raul Julia.
