Dont give me shit about Wii has been out half the time, it has sold 3m+ more consoles that more than makes up for it.

No, I WILL give you shit about it, because your reasoning is plain shitty.

1. Time is a huge factor in game sales, as people tend not to buy many games at once. Typically, they buy a new game, play it, then buy a new one.

2. In that 1st year, Microsoft sold about 6 million consoles. At the start of 2007, the 360 had a roughly 5million console lead over the Wii, and held that lead (with dwindling numbers, of course) for the next 8 months. Nintendo's had a lead over the 360 for about 5 months, and a 3 million console lead for a few weeks. Thus, looking at the size of userbases month-by-month, the 360 had the market to itself for 12 months, clearly led the Wii for another 8 (from Nov 06-Jun 07), was roughly tied (a difference of a few hundred thousand) for 4 (July-Oct 07),  and behind for 3 (Nov 07- Jan 08). That gives a net difference of 17 months in which the 360 had larger user base than the Wii, with a net advantage of 3-5 million for half of that, while the Wii has had an advantage of 1-3 million for just 3 months (at most).

The only way to do a fair comparison is during those few months when the total sales were tied, or by looking at monthly (not total) attatch ratios. I've no doubt that the 360 would still win out, though, as it's base has more "hardcore" base (who buy more games in a month than my in-laws will buy in their lifetimes), it has more very solid games, and it's base is likely a bit more affluent (as they are willing to blow $400 on a game console).
