No denying it's a case of "did not do the research" for the journalists, but there's no harm in being fair. I.E if you are willing to cast an eye on the Asians (or as Okr puts it, "suspicious countries") you should be allowed to do the same to your own.
Again, I agree that they failed for not know the rules but I'm saying, their questions weren't as stupid as it could have been. Especially when someone openly says he fell on purpose.
p.s Instead of falling on purpose, why not just raise your hand?

I dont think the british journalists have been that bad about the asian midshaps we have seen. Its the US coaches runing around stirring things up. I had no problem with the chinese swimmer really, and on reflection the banning of the badminton players was a ridiculous decision. Would we ban a football team for playing for a draw or would we ban a swimmer taking their time and just about qualifying to save themselves for an upcoming final. Stupid decision.

What the badminton teams did was contrary to the Olympic spirit/ideal and they got what they deserved.
I don't know anything about football but why would a team play for a draw? Also, I imagine it would be way harder to prove they're playing bad intentionally.

here's an example in football where a team will play for a draw instead of a win
Team A is incredibly weak, Team B is incredibly strong. They have to play each other twice and the scores of both matches are added together at the end to make up the final score.
Team A manages to beat team B by sheer luck 1-0 in the first match, they know they are not good enough to repeat it in match 2 so rather than play to win, they play to draw match 2 (0-0 so they win overall)
