Actually a lot of the time there are cheaper phones that do a whole lot more.

They have more features on paper but the user experience is terrible (bugs, slow interface and scrolling) and they are just as locked down as Apple.

The only decent Android experience is on the highest end phones like the Galaxy S3 - which cost the same as the 4S i.e. over $1300.

Having owned and used both Android products and Apple products I can say I had just as many bugs with iOS as I do with droid.

On pricing I'm only going on what it is in Australia where Apple seem to arse rape everyone a litttle bit extra over pricing.
