Your post made me actually check the release dates and you're worryingly right. All the big to semi-big games for the 3DS except MH are due this holiday in Japan (Layton vs. Wright, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario). Nintendo would be wise to push one or two of these to next year, especially given that Mario and XL can easily rule the holidays without much help.

Although, PSP pretty much had some of its best years surviving on nothing but Monster Hunter. It would have barely broken 15m LT without MH. With that kind of system-selling power, 3DS could still be fine.

I think Layton vs Wright will be 2013 (first year without layton since 2008 :( ) and Shin Megami Tensei is probably next year too. Tomodatchi collection is this year (even in Nintendo schedule) but we have next to nothing for it so far. This TGS is going to be epic for this, both systems need a lot of software!

And then there's the Japanese Wii U launch and future, I think they promised to say more about the future in it too!

Are you sure about Layton vs. Wright? All my highly reputable sources (Wikipedia) say it's TBA 2012. Actually, I'd rather hope it's early since it probably means that the localization will be earlier as well. (And I really want it as soon as possible!)

For TGS, while I'd hope for more games, I'm really not sure if Nintendo would bother considering just shifting Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Collection to 2013 would give them a more than decent line-up next year. I mean, with MH4, three should-be multi-million sellers is plenty for one year, right? (Even if they do risk having one or two of them collapse on the 3DS like Nintendogs.) On top of that, Mario should still be selling really well into next year.

WiiU's future in Japan should be really interesting, though it's launch is already gonna be huge. (2D Mario and DQ around launch!)
