All Brazilians have full names is just that some of them want to only be know by their nicknames kinda like Madonna, Prince and Pink.

Oh, I always assumed that was the norm, with so many of them only going by their first/nick name

The only Brazilian that I can think of that alway uses his full name is Leandro Barbosa who now plays for the Indiana Pacers but was at his best when he played for the Phoenix Suns.
