I knew the Wii U was getting multiplatform titles. The problem is those games are current gen games when they are supposed to be the first next gen console out. Notice I said next gen. What are they doing to pull over the PS3/360 owners to their console?

What do you expect... for Nintendo to ignore obtaining current multiplats? Yes, Batman will be a year old and Mass Effect 3 and Ninja Gaiden 3 are from March, but Darksiders 2 is coming in August, Tekken in September, and Assassin's Creed 3 is October - not terribly late for WiiU's probable November launch. In fact, there's a good chance that Black Ops 2 could release simultaneously on all three consoles, and Aliens surely will. Not to mention that ZombiU and Project P100 are WiiU 3rd party exclusives (so far).
Point being that it would be foolish for Nintendo to ignore housing the current gen multiplats just because it's a next-gen machine.

To new buyers who dont have PS3/360's its fine. To those who see the current gen multiplats as irrelevant it will hurt.

Who would it possibly hurt? There is going to be at least another year of 7th gen software on the market; with many games (such as Black Ops 2) being huge sellers. It would be good for developers (who have another console to port their games to) and good for Nintendo, as it makes their library more robust.
What would hurt is if Nintendo completely ignored current gen multiplats that people want to play or if they completely ignored obtaining any next gen 3rd party games... neither of which seem likely.
