I am the only person here who prefers FFTA2 to the original FFT? The strange thing is that I really want to like FFT more than FFTA2 (I never cared for and moderately dislike FFT/A2's Wizard of Oz esque setting and story), but I always personally come to the conclusion that FFTA2 is the better game. Apart from story/setting in which FFT is clearly superior, I cannot think of another one. Musically, I feel the games are tied; even though FFT has a more atmospheric and 'moody' soundtrack, FFTA2's battle themes and the MIDI remix of Penelo's theme means they are even IMO. I also dislike the the fact that FFT has random encounters, in most games I don't mind, but given the length of the average battle in the game, I found it irritating. FFTA2 also IMO had better sidequests; I found getting Cloud a bit of a disappointment in FFT. I'm also indifferent about FFT's rotatable field as well, I personally found it a bit irritating in practise. Basically, I want a FFTA3 for the 3DS with a typical Matsuno setting and story.

I can't be the only ones who shares these views, can I?

Never played FFTA2...

but hell I liked FFTA more then FFT.

It had a better class system, and was better balanced.

Though largely i'd base this on the fact that FFT's story was essentially a poorly told Ogre Battle story.  So after having played Ogre Battle games the story was kind of a let down.

FFTA's story is "childish" but it's told well, everything makes sense.
