Best Sonic games to appear on a Nintendo system

I never understood this.  Was Wii supposed to just get Colours instead?  I mean, I enjoyed Colours, but I thought based on that already-established fanbase, Generations would have been an easy choice for the console.

The engine used in Generations is different than the one in Colors. It is more advanced as it was made with the HDS and PC in mind. The WIi simply couldnt run it, this has been known for some time. Now why they just didnt make a Wii version by itself ala 3DS version, i can only guess that didnt feel like it
