Realistically, most major Retailers will probably still have Wii systems in stock until (at earliest) early 2014 ...
I wouldn't be surprised if stock was running low because Nintendo was planning on releasing a new bundle and/or lowering the price of the Wii in the not too distant future. While no one here would probably be interested in it, a Wii system (possibly with 2 controllers and 2 games) selling fo $99 would probably still be a modestly popular gift; especially around Christmas in poorer communities.
Any retailer that has a price guarantee might be reluctant to build up inventory and/or sell a lot of systems prior to a major change in how they're sold.
