Well I do not know about that. But what I do know is that TDKR felt more meaningful than The Avengers to me. The Avengers was a good film, heck maybe even great, but not as good as TDKR or any of Nolan's Batman films.

And while people keep mentioning villains in here, the villain in The Avengers was pretty bad to say the least.

So here's what I think overall about the films, in short form.

Avengers:

Good - Action, humor, many of the characters (Iron Man especially), Scarlett's ass

Worse - Main plot, villain(s), soundtrack (forgettable), the death scene (of a nobody) that was supposed to be emotional

Batman:

Good - Story and the way it is told, villain(s), Batman, Michael Caine, a fitting and bombastic soundtrack (memorable character themes), Anne's ass

Worse - Some minor plot holes that have no effect on the overall plot. Nothing else I can think of because I thought the film was shockingly astounding

Why do people have to down something else to prop up what they like?  It's immature and lacks character.

What? I was giving my thoughts about both films.

You do know you're in a thread that asks people which they find better, TDKR or Avengers. So it is inevitable to make direct comparisons. I even said The Avengers was good to great...

If I wanted to, I could do a detailed breakdown of things that work well and not so well in each movie, but I've avoiding it.  Why?  Because, like BB and especially TDK before it, the more I think about TDKR some glaring horrible problems start coming up and I'd rather not go there because I liked that I rather enjoyed it.  But when people start throwing rotten eggs at TA's real and perceived 'flaws' and are so blind to the ones in TDKR it annoys me and keeps pushing me to be the villain.  But I'm resisting, because TDKR was an awesome experience that first time and I'm still wanting to cherish that.
