I think those redeem codes will be counted as retail sales.

After all, Famitsu and Media Create numbers come from data obtained from the stores and, basically, those codes will be sold in retail stores.

I don't think so, unless it's said by them. Only one store chain will carry them, also. It's still digital sales, after all, much like those download codes that come bundled with systems that no one counts.

Technically they aren't a digital sale, it's still the store that sells the game, but in the form of a code that needs to be redeemed.

But as you say, we can only wait and see.
