Sacramento is a good enough place to see United states first. After San Francisco, I suggest to head down south and see the beaches, Hollywood, and Los Angeles. If you find the time and/or money, check out the east coast as well. There's New York, Washington, DC, and Florida.
United States is huge. How long will you be visiting?
