Nintendo change things up from time to time and I see no reason why theyd call it Mario Kart 7, rather than Mario Kart 3DS.

I dont really need many more reasons, but okay.

I think the 3DS is gonna be around for a long, long time. Nintendo know that the DS could have gone on much longer and releasing 3DS so early turned out to be the biggest mistake in a long time. They will need to make money off the machine and due to the Vita tanking, support will also be much better than we saw on DS. This machine should last Nintendo a whole lot longer.

Nintendo are losing money. Nintendo makes money from SW... A 2nd MK for the system is easy money for Nintendo. It appeals to new consumers and the 15-20 Million that bought MK7... Nintendo need to make some money, huge IP does it for them.

Things added to MK7 I could see, (DLC) But I just can't see more than one MK on one system. 

I guess it could make sense since we have several Mario's on each system (even though they are "different")  but... it would just be so weird.
