Wow just what Nintendo needs another Jump´n Run game.

Its called a plaftformer. Its a genre, and I would rasther see more of those than another miliary shooter.

Nintendo has enough of those. A military shooter from them would bring some diversity

Nintendo doesn't need a military shooter to survive. They are better than that.

Indeed, they survive relying on Mario.

Sorry, Nintendo isnt Microsoft. They need variety, not shooters. I agree Mario is a crutch, but so is Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Metroid and others spanning various genres. It's not a new genre Nintendo needs, but a new character with a new story suitable for a new generation. They need to brainstorm this long and hard for next gen.

Halo Wars, Fable, Crackdown, Forza, Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, Viva Pinata, Kameo, Kinect Sports, Kinectimals, Joyride, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Splosion Man, ilomilo, Hydro Thunder, Crimson Alliance... any of these games ring any bells? MS also published some notable exclusives like Dance Central, Shadow Complex, Trials, etc.

Perhaps if you thought about it for two seconds, variety is not a problem. NIntendo fans haven't exactly shown they want variety. NO brainstorm required, just more Mario, Donkey Kong, and Zelda. Essentially the same stuff we played throughout the 80s and 90s with few changes.

Lots of names but nowhere on Nintendos quality. If Nintendo gets some Rare IP's back some quality will be restored. It's been a dream of mine that Retro Studios would get one of the Rare titles in their clutches like Banjo, Battletoads or . No offense, Microsoft will not suffice, so hopefully they give up the franchises they never brought to the dance. The old members who worked with Microsoft in almost a freelance capacity can get some creative control with Retro Studios and having Nintendo as a watchful eye with Miyamoto to oversee quality. Perfect Dark with the Wii U would be sick. I know Nintendo is in talks with Namco Bandai about SSMB, but they could also talk to them about Killer  Instinct if they could secure the rights.
