Developer: the Wii U controller can’t be used as a gimmick

I have one doubt... this game looked very nice in the comic con panel/trailers. Loved the characters (and future possibilities may be even better) and stages.

But... does it has a block button like MK or it's push backwards for blocking like SF? Because I can't stand block buttons.
