Let's just agree that the Gran Turismo series is extraordinarily popular (at the very least, Gran Turismo is in the top 3 most popular franchises over the last 10 years), and that GT does most definitely rely on graphics, and that those graphics could never possibly be provided by the Wii. |
So let's get your logic straight ...
The PS2 was (roughly) half as powerful as the Gamecube which is (at least) half as powerful as the Wii and you're saying that a PS2 game would not be possible on the Wii? You do realize that the difference in graphical capabilities of the PS2 and Wii are in a similar league to the difference in graphical capabilities between the Wii and the PS3/XBox 360 right?
Anyways, using VGchartz.com data:
| Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas | Take 2 | 0.41 | 7.89 | 6.58 | 14.88 |
| Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas | Take 2 | 0.00 | 1.26 | 0.67 | 1.93 |
| Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec | Sony | 1.89 | 7.11 | 5.84 | 14.84 |
Even without taking into consideration the sales of GTA:SA on the PC it is clear that GTA:SA was the best selling game of the last generation.
