No surprises here. So long as the assets (provided they were good) are involved in FFXV, nothing will have been lost.

I'd imagine this has been decided after the lackluster sales of FFXIII-2 then?

If this were true and they were upset with XIII-2 sales, then they wouldnt be planning to announce XIII-3 in September.

I also doubt this will be changed to XV. Ito is working on XV. It cant be that far away from release. Id imagine if this did get changed, we would be looking at something similar to type-0.

Its FF13-2's sales that might be exactly the reason Wada wants to comission FF13-3.

Based on everything that has been said about FF13, FF13-2, et al; its possible that Wada simply dosent want that team to work on another mainline installment of the FF series. Hence he keeps giving them sequels and things like the Parasite Eve reboot rather than allowing them to continue with FF15 or FF16.

I think Wada is waiting to see how FF15 is recieved and he will then commission FF16 with the team from FF13. he wont let them simply move onto FF16 without finishing the FF13 series.

I'm not talking about the quality of FF13, et al. this is not an invitation to discuss that. My point is that FF13-3 might be on the horizon because Wada wants them to improve on the forumla of FF13, FF13-2, before allowing them to move onto another project. In short FF13-2's sales could be the reason he wants them to conitinue with the FF13 series rather than moving onto something else.
