Resident Evil: Revelations problems were:
- poor marketing (compare the one this game got to the ones mainline titles have gotten)
- another 2 Resident Evil games announced BEFORE this game actually saw the light of day, some people would prefer to wait for these games (both Residen Evil Operation Racoon City AND a MAINLINE title Resident Evil 6 for 360PS3)
- "small userbase" for the 3DS, its sales hadnt exploded yet (they will in a matter of week from now)
- some people bought RE: Mercenaries, were dissapointed with it and decided not to buy this game (not knowing that it was a better game, with a real story)
-the cover is awful (yep, some people actually decide what to buy just for the cover...)
-its an M rated game, and the 3DS still doesnt have a big "hardcore gamers" userbase, yet

and for Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
-poor marketing efforts
-the announcement of a COLLECTION of Metal Gear Solid games, both on PS3/360 AND the PSVita. This collection contains that game (MGS3) and MG1 and 2 and MGS2, also it LOOKED and PLAYED better, and it was CHEAPER, so there was little reason to buy the 3DS game.
- you are really naive to think this game could sell a million :P:P! not even those BETTER collections of Metal Gear Solid games will sell that ammount :)

I honestly thought it would have a shot at a million with 18million units sold and west somewhat lacking mature games. I remember people in my area at the local game store  were very excited about MGS being in 3D. All they did was talk about MGS and RE a few months before the games even launched.

Guesgging the 3D novelty thing wore of quickly or just other games come out that picked up their interest.

So what about the Metal Gear Collections I just told you? do you believe they whould have sold a million too, you know, being in HD, having more content, having dual analogs to played it better and being cheaper?

It already has combined for PS3 and 360. there is always a small chance if enough die hard fans of the series want HD versions each platform will get there on their own, however PS3 more so likely.

Look at zelda ocarina of time. It just sells over and over and over.

Zelda OOT is a special case, it will sell for all of the 3DS life, Metal Gear Solid 3 probably not :P:P, maybe retailers will have shelfspace for the game this holiday season, maybe (and probably) not (shelfspace for a 1st party game that is so important as OOT will always be there, the same cant be said for a lazy 3rd party game that hasnt sold well). And as you said, the people has already decided they want the better game, the MGS HD collection, and not this laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy excuse of a game.
