If I remember correctly Sony themselves projected 12 million PS3s shipment in the current Fiscal year so the sales are definitely decreasing. Next year could be down at 9 million shipped. This new slim will still be produced for a good number of years since it'll sell along with the PS4 a few years into next gen. |
It is my understanding that Sony lost $ billions because the PS3 was expensive to manufacture. Not because of the late release. Had they launched in 2005, the ps3 would have been even more expensive and they probably would have lost even more monies.
