The grass in that Xenoblade shot ends a few meters away from the characters, the grass on the hills on the right look like blobs of color vs the ground textures up close. If I can notice texture LOD in a static screenshot it must be really aparent in motion, tho I am sure the low resolution helps hide the problem.

Unless of course the game just has patches of the game world with much lower res textures and no grass, that stay the same when up close...

lots of pop-in on the grass and worse pop-in on enemies is how Xenoblade gets away with it. Also really bad textures if you get up close. I was doing a fair bit of swimming yesterday and was thinking the ocean looked like Bomberman 64...
