The trouble with NSMBU is that it looks so, so very similiar to the previous three games in the series. Even the theme music is identical. The art style hasn't changed at all. The level design looks the same, just with more things going on due to the horsepower.
Not saying it won't be a big seller, and I'm certainly not saying that it won't turn out to be a classic. What I am saying is that on it's face, that game does not differentiate itself enough from previous games in the 'NSMB' line, and I can't be the only person who is skeptical of paying $59.99 for more of the same. NSMBWii was not all that great of a game.
NSMB2 looks really good, but only because of the clever "collect 1,000,000 coins" theme and the raccoon tail that appeals to the NES fanboy nostalgia. NSMBU does not have that same appeal, and it's supposed to be a system seller? |
Wrong. The theme is not the same as the 3 other games.

Do tell. What is the theme?

This is the real theme. I heard it often while they were playing offscreen at the booth.
