I like my mario but at least I also buy quality 3rd party games. Especially RE. So many complained about RE5 not coming to Wii and that it got on rails instead. Well look at 3ds. Proper RE game that is good and people are not buying it. then when the next one is annouced for vita instead of 3ds, people will complain again lol. I really hope this trent doesn't continue on Wii U, otherwise again no 3rd party support. There is a decent 3rd party line up on Wii U for those who only own a Wii and are going to upgrade. I really hope they buy those games. |
As I said in my other response, RE:Revelations hasn't been through a holiday season, yet. It'll do better during the holidays. As for RE5, the point is that RE4: Wii Edition sold very well considering it was a port, and that it had been on both PS2 and GameCube (thereby limiting its market as a fresh game) - it is now at over 2 million sold, not bad for a port. And then they released Umbrella Chronicles, which people were fine with - it was a way to see how Wii owners would respond to the franchise. It ALSO sold quite well - 1.5 million to date. And then, rather than making RE5 for Wii, they instead decided that the sales of Umbrella Chronicles proved that the Wii was a great place for rail shooters, rather than real RE titles.
The blame lays at the feet of Capcom, not Wii owners. Wii owners did everything asked of them, and Capcom spat in their faces.
Oh, don't get me wrong - they saw that RE4 had sold really quite well. Not bad at all for a port. So what did they do? More ports - RE Zero and RE1 both got ported... but no RE5, or any other new RE that plays like RE4.
So again I say it, the blame lays at Capcom's feet, not Wii owners' feet.
